There are so many reasons why I recommend including an engagement session in your wedding packages. It’s a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera, have time to shoot at different locations than your wedding venue, get to know me and how much fun I am (yes!!) and probably most important, it’s time to just relax and get excited with your future partner!! A lot of my clients hire me from out of state so they don’t think an engagement session is necessary or possible, but if you’re coming to town to do a menu tasting, venue walk-thru or to start working on that wedding day glow then let’s go do some engagement photos! That’s exactly how New Yorkers Kelley & Marcel squeezed this session in and we are all so happy they did.

There is nothing more exciting and nerve-wracking than shooting the moment when someone asks their person to say yes to forever! And honestly, is there a more beautiful place to do it than the magical beach at Beer Can Island? This sweet couple was visiting from Pennsylvania & headed to what she thought was a quick stroll on the beach before dinner. Right when she started getting hungry and confused as to why he was taking her down a path of mangroves, he dropped to his knee while I was essentially hiding behind a tree. Then we had so much fun wandering the beach and celebrating together. Congratulations Phil & Chelsea!!
Carol & Alex decided to have a private courthouse ceremony and contacted me to take some portraits after! So in their wedding outfits, we explored Emerson Point Preserve together, which is always so magical. Fun fact, Carol is an incredibly talented massage therapist and used to work on me! So happy for these two!
Being a native Floridian and someone who has to work with famously unreliable weather, it is easy to forget how STUNNING this paradise we call home is. And it’s pretty great to be reminded of it while shooting engagement portraits for a couple from Ohio. I was literally thanking Brandi & Jason for bringing me out to Siesta Key Beach to shoot their portraits because it was one of the most beautiful evenings I’ve seen in a long time! We were all amazed by the sunset, and I was loving their sweetness with each other. Congratulations you two, thank you for this amazing session!
